Theology of the Body

Theology of the Body

Bishop Rhoades has asked that St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body be taught to seventh-graders in Catholic schools and in religious education classes. It involves 12 hours of presentation time. It will be presented for the first time in the spring semester of 2016.

St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body is an approach to understanding Catholic teaching on sexuality. It provides a framework as a way of thinking about God's plan for humanity in this area. You may see some of the materials and learn more online from the publisher of the materials being used: Theology of the Body.

Parents are the first teachers for their children. There will be a presentation for parents so that they may understand the program and what will be taught. Parents may request that their children not participate in this. They are to submit this request in writing.
